Cook Sri Lanka. Understand Ayurveda.
Experience Sri Lanka with all your senses during a full day of cooking, spices and Ayurvedic knowledge. In our Full Day Cooking Course, we combine traditional Sri Lankan cuisine with the basic principles of Ayurveda and show how ingredients, spices and preparation methods can come together to create a balanced and enjoyable meal.
At the beginning of the day, you will receive an easy-to-understand introduction to Ayurveda, the three Doshas Vata, Pitta and Kapha, and the importance of the six tastes. We then explore typical Sri Lankan spices such as Ceylon cinnamon, turmeric, ginger, cardamom, pepper, cloves and curry leaves, including their traditional use in cooking and Ayurveda.
Together, we prepare a complete Sri Lankan menu with different curries, dhal, vegetable dishes, rice, sambols, coconut and other traditional specialities. Step by step, you will learn how an authentic Rice & Curry meal is created and how traditional Sri Lankan cooking can be combined with Ayurvedic principles.
The day is a blend of hands-on cooking, Ayurveda knowledge, spice discovery, shared preparation and relaxed dining. You will also receive practical ideas that can easily be used in your own kitchen at home.
